Description
A family of turkeys is technically called a “rafter”, though they are often incorrectly referred to as a “gobble” or simply a “flock”. As the sun sets, birds find shelter among tree limbs. Turkeys, with powerful wings fly to the highest tree limbs, beyond the reach of predators. When buildings were being constructed, people would find turkeys roosting among the rafters of their barns or structures, which speaks to their intelligence of turkeys.
